Christmas is a time for giving

At this time of year people should think of others especially those in need of help like young Carter Buchanan. When out buying your christmas presents ask yourself if you really need to buy as much especially with the credit crunch at the moment. Just think by buying one less present you could buy Carter a present instead by buying one block of pixels for just $20. This would go a long way to help Carter and his family fund future trips to America and a possible operation. Remember Carter is a very sick young boy who can't walk or talk and has to be fed through a tube in his tummy so his early childhood is very limited.

I would also like to point out that Carters parents have been turned turned down for government funding by the Stormont Health Minister and even Children in Need turned down their appeal. I find this shocking and it is therefore vital that this website is successful in helping raise the necessary funds to help Carter get the best medical treatment available.

Carter has had tests in America

Carter returned home from America last month with his parents Emma and Robert after two months of tests at the Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago. His mother Emma was delighted by the answers she received and has been assured Carter is a candidate for pioneering surgery. The trip cost the family £15,000 however the family still need £165,000 to pay for Carter's ever increasing medical bills. Carter is currently on a special diet and will have to return to America every three months for tests before setting a date for surgery.

Why choose Carters Journey of Hope?

When I first read about Carter the idea that a child of two years of age is in need of so much care really touched me. His epilepsy is rare and he should be allowed access to the best medical care possible that can help him live a normal childhood. His parents Robert and Emma are devoting so much time to caring and fundraising for him that they have quit work to do whatever it takes to help Carter. I also know from personal experience what it is like to live with epilepsy which is why I want to help. Who is Carter Buchanan?

Carter Buchanan is a very sick young boy who has multiple seizures every day and his parents Robert amd Emma are trying to raise money for him to get him the best medical care possible. The problem is that this is going to cost them in the region of £180,000 as they have to go to Chicago to see a top doctor. There is a wide range of support for Carter with a lot of fundraising taking place in his home town of Holywood Co, Down in Northern Ireland. With your help £50,000 would take a lot of strain of his parents and give Carter a much better quality of life.

It's about time I started to get serious about this website

Having had it online for some time now I have decided to use this blog facility to communicate with the users and explain to you why I have had decided to lower the price of the pixels once again. I first of all started of with one dollar per pixel for a long time but with the current economic conditions its not feasable to charge such a price. I have had interest in the pixels but the only thing that stopped people buying them was the fact that nobody else had made a purchase. I then lowered it to 40 cents for a while in the hope that with a 60% reduction there would be some interest. Just before I reduced them I was starting to get more hits as I spent a bit on promoting the webite in a number of web directories. Unfortunately nobody has took the plunge to buy pixels which is why I have now took it upon myself to get serious about this website.

The pixels are now going to be priced at just $0.20 and I have changed the option of 40% of the user's fee going to a charity of their choice. Instead I have opted to choose a charity of my own choice. The charity is "Carters Journey of Hope". I have obtained permission from the childs parents to use this website to raise funds for their child Carter who has a rare form of epilepsy and can have up to 16 seizures a day. In order to give this child a better quality of life he needs medical help in America, which is quite expensive and the reason the family are looking for donations.
